<p>These instructions should assist in configuring your GEC BTEX PBX to 
work with TIM Enterprise. If you are not familiar with PBX 
configuration, please contact your system maintainer.</p>

<p>For your SMDR configuration, please note that GEC BTEX has multiple output formats. For TIM Enterprise, the output will need to be configured to the <span class="reference">600S format</span>.</p>

<h2>Configuring TIM Enterprise</h2>

<p>Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Enterprise to listen for SMDR data from your GEC BTEX 600S:</p>

	<li>Browse to TIM Enterprise as normal and login with your credentials.</li>
	<li>Click on the <span class="button" id="list">Directory</span> tab.</li>
	<li>Go the the point in the Directory where you need to add the PBX Object and add a PBX with the name 'GEC BTEX 600S'.</li>
	<li>Left-click on it and select <span class="button" id="list">Properties</span>.</li>
	<li>From the <span class="button" id="list">General</span> settings tab select <span class="keyword">GEC BTEX 600S</span> from the PBX model list.</li>

	<li>In the <span class="button" id="list">Connection</span> tab select <span class="keyword">No connection required</span> from the <span class="reference">Connection method</span> list.</li>
	<li>Finally, click on the <span class="button" id="list">Save</span> button.</li>

These instructions help you configure your GEC BTEX phone system to work with TIM Enterprise. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with the configuration of your PBX.

Configuring your SMDR output

Info

Note that the GEC BTEX can output SMDR information in multiple formats. You should select the 600S format for use with TIM Enterprise.

The GEC BTEX phone system sends SMDR information via a serial connection. You need to directly connect a serial cable from the GEC BTEX phone system to the PC that netpbx is installed and running on. For more information about the output and configuration of your SMDR data, please contact your system maintainer.

Installing NetPBX

To collect the call logging data from the serial port and send it to TIM Enterprise, you first need to install the NetPBX software. For setup instructions, click on the link below:

Configuring TIM Enterprise

Once NetPBX is configured and collecting data, log in to TIM Enterprise and perform the following steps:

  1. Click on the Directory tab.
  2. Locate the PBX object you want to configure in the Director, right-click on it and select Properties.
  3. A new window will open, displaying the general properties of your PBX object. Select GEC BTEX 600S from the Data format list and tick the

  4. Click on the Connection tab and select No connection required from the Connection method list.
  5. Click on the Save button to apply the settings.
